Micah Watts (Owner)

How long have you been in the industry?

“I’ve been in the construction industry all my life! As a young boy helping my parents build our house to managing a cabinet shop at 20 years old to buying Flooring America of Oregon in 2007. I’ve always enjoyed construction and the retail showroom side of the business. I’ve recently partnered with a residential remodeling firm as Vice President to be able to provide our customers a one stop shop for all their needs.”

Why do you love working at Flooring America?

“Hands down, THE PEOPLE! I love everyone we work with, whether it be industry partners, employees, subcontractors and of course OUR CUSTOMERS! I am a people person with a passion for design. What a great fit for this industry; I truly enjoy coming to work every day!”

What are your hobbies?

“My hobbies include golf, traveling, playing with my kids, snowboarding and my new passion for diving!”

Melanie Watts (Controller)

How long have you been in the industry?

“I’ve been in the flooring industry for over 15 years, but remodeling for 23.”

Why do you love working at Flooring America?

“I love working for Flooring America because we have a professional, yet fun environment and everyone has such a great team spirit. You can really tell that the employees have a drive to make everything they touch better. And they all work so well with our customers! It’s truly a wonderful environment to be in.”

What are your hobbies?

“My hobbies include skiing, traveling, Pilates, playing games and hanging out with my 2 kids and cuddling with my Boston Terrier, Lincoln.”

Cheyanne Watts (Accounts Payable and Receivable)

How long have you been in the industry?

“I have been with Flooring America of Oregon for 2 years now! But my entire family is in the construction/flooring business.”

Why do you love working at Flooring America?

“I love working at Flooring America for many reasons. One is the importance our entire team puts on making sure our customers are fully satisfied and happy with their final project. The flexibility that I have here allows me to be home with my family which is a huge plus! Another reason is working with family is awesome! It really makes it an enjoyable place to work.”

What are your hobbies?

“I love cooking and experimenting with different recipes for my family. I grew up always wanting to help in the kitchen and not much has changed. Spending time with my daughter and husband around good food is my favorite time!”

Tyler Moore (General Manager)

How long have you been in the industry?

“I’ve been in the flooring industry for over 15 years. Nearly 10 with this company!”

Why do you love working at Flooring America?

“We strive to educate every potential client to get them the best product and customer service experience possible.”

What are your hobbies?

“I enjoy chasing waterfalls along with backpacking trips. Leather working and Bonsai are also passions of mine.”

Mark Dempewolf (Insurance Coordinator/Sales)

How long have you been in the industry?

“I have been in the Flooring Industry for over 10 years at Flooring America, in the restoration work since 1992. I specialize in the restoration side, mainly working with insurance companies. I am a detailed person so I can help with any claim and I work closely with adjusters. Flooring America is a preferred provider for many insurance companies.”

Why do you love working at Flooring America?

“I love working at Flooring America because of the great ownership and coworkers! I love improving people’s homes with new flooring.”

What are your hobbies?

“I enjoy going to Portland Timber games and cheering on our team! I am also an avid Disc Golf player.”

Kirsten Creek (Productions and Scheduling Manager)

How long have you been in the industry?

“While new to the flooring industry, I’ve been in construction and customer service for many years.”

“I find fulfillment in helping customers find the perfect flooring solutions for their homes or businesses. Working at Flooring America involves significant customer interaction, providing opportunities to build relationships and make a positive impact on people's lives.”

What are your hobbies?

“I’m someone who enjoys woodworking, being outdoors, and cooking. I value creativity, craftsmanship, and connection—to nature, to others, and to the food I prepare and share.”

Alex Wiest (Sales Consultant)

How long have you been in the industry?

“My very first job was a Carpet cleaner, then got into restoring grout, tile and stone. After some general contracting work, I’ve been part of the Flooring America team for the past 5 years.”
